Reviews scholarly literature and herbarium collections, compiles and synthesizes data and evaluates the conservation status of rare plant species in Alaska. Plans, directs and executes most botany-related fieldwork for the program, including in remote regions of Alaska. Manages budgets in light of available grant funding, and pursues grant funding for the program. Requirements: Master's degree in biological sciences, botany or ecology or foreign equivalent. Demonstrable ability to: manage, analyze, interpret and display biological data in both tabular and spatial formats (using computers, ArcGIS and Oracle/ArcView platforms). Demonstrable familiarity with field botany or plant community botany and plant taxonomy. Demonstrable ability to: write reports, scholarly works and grant proposals; plan, direct and execute botanical field work projects (including team projects); manage budgets and grant funding; and participate in field work in remote areas.
